Black rice (Venere)

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Venere black rice has an intense, slightly nutty-caramel aroma and a sweet aftertaste; the grains are small, shiny, and deep purple-black, and they retain a firm, slightly chewy texture and striking color after cooking. As a whole grain, unhulled rice rich in fiber, plant protein, iron, magnesium, and anthocyanins, Venere supports digestion, provides a longer feeling of fullness, and has antioxidant properties beneficial for the cardiovascular system. It works perfectly in salads with vegetables and seafood, as a base for risotto or pilaf, as an addition to Asian and Mediterranean dishes, and in rice desserts. It should be stored in an airtight, opaque container in a cool, dry place; due to the bran content, it is best used within 6–12 months, and for longer storage, it is advisable to refrigerate or freeze it.
