18% cream (optional, for serving)
Description
18% cream is a smooth, creamy product with a whitish color and a slightly sweet, mildly tangy taste; it has a velvety consistency that adds lightness to dishes without overwhelming greasiness. As an optional addition for serving, it works great with cream soups, stews, sauces, and potato dishes, as well as a soothing element with spicier flavors, and for warm desserts. Nutritionally, 18% cream provides energy mainly from fat, including saturated acids, and small amounts of protein, calcium, and fat-soluble vitamins (A, D). In moderate amounts, it aids in the absorption of vitamins and improves satiety, but those with fat restrictions should use it sparingly. It should be stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2–6°C, tightly sealed after opening, and used within 3–5 days; avoid prolonged freezing, which alters its structure.
