Amaretto liqueur

Description

Amaretto liqueur is a sweet, aromatic liqueur with an intense almond-marzipan flavor and a subtle bitterness, usually achieving an amber-gold color and a smooth, syrupy consistency. It is traditionally made from bitter almonds or apricot pits, often with the addition of vanilla and caramel, which gives it a distinct, pleasantly perfumed flavor profile. Nutritionally, amaretto mainly provides calories from alcohol and sugar, containing small amounts of mineral components derived from almond extracts, while proteins and fats are present in trace amounts. It can have a warming effect and stimulate appetite, but it should be consumed in moderation, avoided by those with nut allergies and by individuals who avoid alcohol. In the kitchen, it pairs perfectly with desserts (tiramisu, creams, ice creams), baked goods, fruit sauces, as well as cocktails and coffee. Store in a tightly sealed bottle in a cool, dark place; it does not require refrigeration, but the flavor is best preserved for 1–2 years after opening.
