Strawberry liqueur
Description
Strawberry liqueur is an intensely red, transparent or slightly cloudy drink with a sweet, juicy aroma of strawberries, accompanied by a distinct note of sugar and the warmth of alcohol. The taste is dominated by the sweetness of ripe fruits, balanced by a subtle alcoholic bitterness; its consistency can be thicker than wine due to the added sugar, making it pleasantly pourable. Nutritionally, the liqueur primarily provides calories from alcohol and sugar, containing little protein or fat, and only trace amounts of vitamins and minerals, although distilled or macerated strawberries may offer small quantities of antioxidants. Culinary applications include cocktails, dessert sauces, soaking cakes, and ice creams, as well as finishing fruit compositions. Store in a cool, dark place in a tightly sealed bottle; once opened, it is best chilled and consumed within a few months to preserve the aroma.
