Whole milk
Description
Whole milk has a creamy, slightly sweet taste and a smooth, white color with a natural layer of fat that adds a velvety texture. It is rich in high-quality protein, calcium, B vitamins, as well as vitamins A and D (often fortified), and saturated fats that increase energy value and the feeling of fullness; regular, moderate consumption supports bone health and muscle recovery, but those on a low-fat diet should monitor their portions. In the kitchen, whole milk is versatile: for coffee, smoothies, cream soups, sauces (e.g., béchamel), desserts, baking, and ice cream, where it adds structure and flavor. Store in the refrigerator at a temperature of 0–4°C in a closed container, use within a few days after opening, and check the expiration date; it can also be frozen, but the texture may change slightly after thawing.
