Frozen berry fruits

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Frozen berries are a mix of raspberries, strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries with intense, juicy colors and a distinct sweet-tart flavor, with a slight tartness enhanced by freezing. Ice crystals or frost on the surface are a natural effect of storage and do not affect the taste after thawing. From a nutritional standpoint, berries are low in calories, rich in fiber, vitamin C, vitamin K, and antioxidants, primarily anthocyanins, which support immunity, cardiovascular health, and have anti-inflammatory properties. In the kitchen, frozen fruits are great in smoothies, cocktails, oatmeal, desserts, baked goods, and sauces; they can be added directly from the freezer or after a short thaw. It is best to store them in an airtight container in the freezer at around −18°C, to be used within 6–12 months for optimal quality, and to avoid refreezing after complete thawing.
