Description

Type 00 wheat flour is a very finely milled, almost snow-white flour with a silky texture and a mild, neutral flavor that does not overpower dishes. It mainly contains carbohydrates as a source of energy, a moderate amount of plant protein, and very little fat; due to its high refinement, it also has a lower content of fiber and minerals than whole grain flours, so it is worth combining it with other sources of nutrients in a balanced diet. In the kitchen, type 00 works excellently where a light, elastic structure is needed: pizza and pasta dough, yeast bread with a thin crust, delicate cookies, and cakes. Store it in an airtight container in a cool, dry, and dark place; for longer shelf life, you can keep the flour in the refrigerator or freezer to prevent rancidity and pests.
