Walnut oil
Description
Walnut oil has a distinct, slightly sweet and nutty aroma, and a golden-brown color that can deepen depending on the degree of roasting of the nuts; the taste is delicate, with a subtle bitterness and a pleasant roasted note. Nutritionally, it is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, especially omega-3 and omega-6, contains antioxidants and vitamin E, which supports heart health, has anti-inflammatory properties, and promotes cell protection with moderate consumption. In the kitchen, this oil is best used cold as an addition to salads, vinaigrettes, sauces, dressings, and for drizzling over vegetables, cheeses, or bread; it is not recommended for frying at high temperatures due to its low smoke point. Store in a dark bottle, in a cool place, preferably in the refrigerator after opening, and use within a few months to maintain freshness and aroma.
