Grated lime zest

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Lime zest is finely grated, intensely green peel with a fresh, vibrant citrus aroma featuring floral notes and a slightly bitter, aromatic oiliness. It appears as thin strips or a fine powder that adds both fragrance and a delicate texture to dishes, enhancing flavor without the acidity of the juice. In small amounts, it provides vitamin C, fiber, polyphenols, and essential oils (including limonene) with antioxidant properties and digestive support. It pairs wonderfully with desserts, baked goods, sauces, marinades, dressings, fish and seafood dishes, salsas, rice, and cocktails as a flavor finishing touch. It is best stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for a few days or frozen on a baking sheet and then kept in a sealed bag for several months; it can also be dried and stored in a dark, dry place.
