White chocolate chips

🌱 Vegetarian

Description

White chocolate chips are creamy, light cream-colored discs with a subtly sweet, buttery flavor and a distinct hint of vanilla and milk. The texture when melted is silky and thick, making it easy to work with in the kitchen and giving baked goods a pleasant, sweet depth. Nutritionally, it is an energy-rich product, high in fats from cocoa butter and sugars, and contains proteins and minerals from milk, such as calcium; however, it does not contain cocoa powder, so it does not provide the flavonoids characteristic of dark chocolate. When consumed in moderation, it provides quick energy and enhances the flavor of desserts. White chocolate chips are used for melting into coatings, preparing ganache, decorating cakes, cookies, and muffins, as well as tempering and coating pralines; they pair wonderfully with citrus fruits, nuts, and spices such as cinnamon or ginger. They should be stored in an airtight container in a cool, dry, dark place, away from strong odors, ideally at a temperature of 15–20°C; in high humidity conditions, it is advisable to avoid the refrigerator to prevent condensation and loss of texture.
