Brandy for deglazing
Description
Brandy (cognac) for deglazing is a clear, amber distillate with a complex aroma — notes of dried fruits, oak vanilla, and spices, with a warm, slightly sweet finish. In the kitchen, it is primarily used for deglazing pans and creating aromatic sauces, as well as for flambéing dishes, enhancing the flavor of meats, game, mushrooms, and desserts. Nutritionally, it is a source of calories from alcohol with a low content of nutrients; distillates contain small aromatic compounds, and their moderate consumption has been linked to some cardiovascular effects, but alcohol also carries health risks and should be used sparingly. Store tightly closed, upright, in a cool, dark place away from heat sources; once opened, it retains quality for several years, but over time it loses some of its aroma.
