Wheat bread
Description
Wheat bread has a delicate, slightly sweet flavor and a soft crumb with a thin, golden crust; its appearance depends on the flour and baking technology, ranging from a light, fluffy loaf to a denser whole grain bread. Its aroma is subtle, and the texture is pleasantly elastic, making it a versatile element of everyday cooking. As a product made from wheat flour, it primarily provides carbohydrates, a moderate amount of protein, and, depending on the flour used, fiber and minerals as well as B vitamins. Whole grain wheat bread supports energy and digestion due to its fiber content, while white bread has a lower content of trace elements. It works well in sandwiches, toasts, as an accompaniment to soups, for making croutons, breading, or fillings. To maintain freshness, store bread in a paper or cotton bag at room temperature for a few days, avoiding the refrigerator, which speeds up staleness; for longer storage, freeze in portions.
