Kiwi
Description
Kiwi is a small fruit with an oval shape, brown, slightly fuzzy skin, and intensely green or yellowish flesh with tiny black seeds. The taste is fresh, sweet-tart with a distinct note of exotic sourness and an aroma reminiscent of melon and gooseberry, making it a refreshing addition to dishes. Nutritionally, kiwi provides a lot of vitamin C, fiber, potassium, vitamin K, and antioxidants while being relatively low in calories, supporting immunity, digestion, and heart health. In the kitchen, it pairs well with fruit and vegetable salads, smoothies, desserts, salsas, and marinades, as well as with yogurts and cereals; it can be eaten raw, baked, or frozen for sorbet. Unripe kiwi should be stored at room temperature to ripen, while ripe ones should be kept in the refrigerator in the fruit drawer for about a week or tightly covered after cutting.
