Milk
Description
Milk is a white, creamy liquid with a mildly sweet, neutral taste, the intensity of which depends on the fat content — whole milk is creamier, while skim milk is lighter. From a biological perspective, it provides complete high-quality protein, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and B vitamins, often also vitamin D in fortified products, which supports bone health, muscle recovery, and metabolism. However, it is important to remember lactose intolerance and protein allergies in some individuals. In the kitchen, milk is versatile: it is suitable for sauces, soups, baked goods, desserts, cheeses, and coffee drinks, softening flavors and adding a creamy texture. It should be stored in the refrigerator at a temperature of 0–4°C in its original, tightly sealed packaging, used within a few days after opening, and checking the expiration date; freezing is possible, but it may change the texture.
