Unsweetened plant milk

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Unsweetened plant milk is a light, usually creamy liquid with a delicate, subtle flavor that depends on the source — almond has a subtly nutty taste, oat is naturally sweeter, soy is more neutral, and rice is faintly detectable. It resembles cow's milk in appearance, although it may be slightly thinner or creamier depending on the fat content and thickeners. Nutritionally, unsweetened products typically have lower calorie content and no added sugars, are free from lactose and cholesterol; protein content varies (highest in soy), fiber is often more abundant in oat, and calcium and vitamins D/B12 are often added in fortified versions. It works well in coffee, smoothies, cereals, baking, sauces, and soups, and as a substitute for cow's milk in most recipes. Once opened, store in the refrigerator in the original packaging and consume within 4–7 days, shaking before use.
