Honey mustard
Description
Honey mustard is a smooth, creamy emulsion with a golden-brown color and a slightly glossy surface, often with small mustard seeds. The flavor combines the spicy, slightly peppery note of mustard with a distinct yet mild sweetness of honey, creating a pleasant balance of heat and sweetness along with a subtle floral aroma. Nutritionally, honey mustard provides few calories per serving, is a source of antioxidants and compounds found in mustard seeds that may support digestion and have anti-inflammatory effects; at the same time, the sugar (from honey) and salt content suggest moderate consumption. In the kitchen, it works great as a glaze for meats, an addition to sauces and dressings, a base for marinades, an ingredient for sandwiches and dips, as well as a complement to cheeses and salads. Once opened, store in the refrigerator in a tightly sealed jar and usually consume within 3–6 months, while an unopened package should be kept in a cool, dark place.
