Brazil nuts

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan ⚠️ Allergen

Description

Brazil nuts (paran) have a hard, angular shell and large, creamy-white kernels with a buttery, slightly sweet note and a smooth, crunchy texture; their flavor is intense and distinctive, making them easily stand out in dishes. They pair wonderfully as a snack, an addition to salads and muesli, an ingredient in creams, spreads, and pesto, as well as a component in baked goods, where they bring a hint of nutty sweetness and texture. These nuts are exceptionally rich in selenium, monounsaturated fats, protein, magnesium, and B vitamins, which support thyroid function, the immune system, and cardiovascular health; due to their high selenium content, it is advisable to limit the portion to 1–2 nuts per day. Store them in an airtight container in a cool, dark place, preferably in the refrigerator or freezer, to prevent the fats from going rancid.
