Pasta tahini
Description
Tahini is a smooth, creamy paste ranging in color from light beige to golden, with a distinct nutty-seasame aroma and a slightly bitter note. Its consistency can be somewhat oily with natural oil separation. Nutritionally, tahini provides healthy monounsaturated and polyunsaturated fats, plant-based protein, fiber, and minerals such as calcium, iron, and magnesium, as well as antioxidant compounds (e.g., sesamin), which support heart and bone health and provide a feeling of fullness. In the kitchen, tahini is versatile: it works great in hummus, sauces, dressings, marinades, spreads, baked goods, and smoothies, and pairs well with lemon, garlic, olive oil, and honey. It should be stored in a cool, dark place; once opened, it is recommended to seal it tightly and store it in the refrigerator, mix before use, and consume within a few months, as the oil may separate and the product can go rancid over time.
