Prosecco (for topping, optional)
Description
Prosecco (for serving, optional) is a light Italian sparkling wine with a straw-yellow color and fine, lasting perlage. It has a fresh, fruity taste with notes of green apple, pear, and white flowers, featuring pleasant acidity and a delicate sweetness that enhances the dish's aroma without overwhelming it. As a serving addition, it adds lightness and a bubbly texture. Nutritionally, prosecco provides calories from alcohol and sugars—about 70–90 kcal per 100 ml—and small amounts of polyphenols and antioxidants typical of white wines. In moderate consumption, it can support relaxation and improve appetite, but it does not replace a healthy diet. In the kitchen, prosecco pairs well with cocktails, aperitifs, drizzling over fruits, lightly reduced sauces, or desserts when we want to add bubbles and acidity. Store chilled, standing in a dark place; once opened, recork and consume within 1–3 days to maintain the fizz.
