Dried mint leaves
Description
Dried mint leaves have an intense, cooling aroma with a hint of menthol and a slightly sweet, herbal flavor; visually, they are dull green-brown, brittle, and finely crushed, although whole leaves retain more aroma. They are a source of fiber, vitamins (especially A and C in small amounts), as well as polyphenols and essential oils, which exhibit antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and may alleviate digestive issues, bloating, and nausea when used moderately. In the kitchen, dried mint works perfectly in teas and infusions, spice blends, yogurt sauces, salads, dressings, meat dishes (especially lamb), desserts, and mojito cocktails, adding freshness and aroma. Store it in an airtight, opaque container, in a dry, cool, and dark place, preferably whole, to preserve the aroma; use within 6–12 months for optimal quality.
