Szynka prosciutto di parma

Description

Prosciutto di Parma is a delicately aged Italian ham protected by the DOP designation, with a subtly sweet-salty, nutty-umami flavor and a velvety, melt-in-your-mouth texture. It appears pink with distinct streaks of white fat marbling, which contributes to the aroma and juiciness of the meat after long aging. Nutritionally, prosciutto di Parma is a good source of high-quality protein, B vitamins (especially B12), iron, and zinc, providing energy and supporting muscle recovery, but it also contains fats and relatively high salt levels, so moderate consumption is recommended. It pairs wonderfully as antipasti with melon or figs, in sandwiches, salads, pizzas, pastas, and as a thinly sliced snack wrapping around asparagus or breadsticks. Once opened, store it in the refrigerator tightly wrapped in parchment paper and foil or in its original vacuum-sealed packaging and consume within a few days; a whole leg can be kept in a cool, dry place.
