Fine bulgur
Description
Fine bulgur is roasted, pre-cooked cracked wheat broken into small grains with a light brown color and a subtly nutty, slightly sweet taste. It has a pleasant, crunchy-soft texture when cooked and quickly absorbs spices, making it a versatile ingredient. As a whole grain product, it is rich in fiber, plant protein, B vitamins, and minerals such as magnesium and iron; it has a low fat content and a moderate glycemic index, supporting digestion, blood sugar control, and heart health. In the kitchen, fine bulgur works well in salads (e.g., tabbouleh), grain dishes, fillings, soups, and as a light, aromatic substitute for rice or couscous. To store it longer, keep it in an airtight container in a cool, dry place, away from light and moisture; in warmer conditions or after a longer period, it is advisable to store it in the refrigerator or freezer to prevent rancidity and pests.
