Thick natural yogurt (Greek type)

🌱 Vegetarian

Description

Thick natural yogurt (Greek style) has a velvety, creamy texture and an intensely white color, with a distinctly tangy but mild flavor and slightly buttery notes. Due to the draining of whey, it is thicker and more filling than regular yogurt. Nutritionally, it provides a lot of protein, calcium, B vitamins, and probiotic cultures that support the gut microbiome; it also contains phosphorus and fewer carbohydrates than regular yogurt, which promotes a feeling of fullness and bone health. In the kitchen, it works well as a base for sauces, dips, dressings, and cold soups, a substitute for cream in soups and desserts, an addition to smoothies, marinades for meats, and an ingredient for breakfasts with fruits and granola. Store in the refrigerator at a temperature of 2–7°C, in the original or airtight container, using a clean spoon; after opening, it is best consumed within 5–7 days.
