Mandarin
Description
Mandarin is a small, juicy fruit with a thin, easily removable skin and an intense orange color. Its taste is sweet and sour, milder and less acidic than an orange, with an aromatic, slightly floral note. It contains few calories, a lot of vitamin C, fiber, antioxidants, and minerals such as potassium and small amounts of folic acid, which support the immune system, skin health, digestion, and blood pressure balance. In the kitchen, mandarin works well fresh in salads, desserts, and smoothies, as a base for dressings, jams, and preserves, as well as an aromatic glaze for poultry or fish and an addition to cocktails. It is best stored in a cool, airy place or in the refrigerator, where it will stay fresh for about a week; avoid excess moisture and keep it away from strongly scented products.
