Linden honey

🌱 Vegetarian

Description

Linden honey has a distinct floral-menthol aroma with a delicate, slightly herbal note; its color ranges from light golden to slightly greenish, and its consistency is liquid, although it often undergoes creamy crystallization while maintaining a pleasant smoothness. Nutritionally, it is a concentrated source of easily digestible sugars (mainly fructose and glucose), providing about 300 kcal per 100 g, along with small amounts of minerals and antioxidants; traditionally valued for its soothing effect on the throat and immune support, it also has antibacterial properties, though it is important to remember its high caloric content. In the kitchen, linden honey pairs wonderfully with herbal teas and lemon, yogurts, goat cheeses and white cheeses, desserts, and as a topping for pancakes and an ingredient in marinades and dressings, where it adds an aromatic, fresh note. Store it in a tightly sealed glass jar in a cool, dark, and dry place, not in the refrigerator; any crystallization can be restored by gently heating in a water bath to about 40–45°C.
