Walnuts or pistachios

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Walnuts have irregular, "brain-like" kernels with a beige-brown color and an intense, buttery-bitter taste, while pistachios are distinguished by their green interior in a pink-beige shell, with a sweet-nutty, slightly earthy aroma. Both types are crunchy and aromatic, but pistachios are subtler and sweeter in flavor. They are an excellent source of healthy fats, protein, fiber, vitamin E, minerals (magnesium, potassium), and antioxidants; walnuts additionally provide omega-3 fatty acids, while pistachios have a beneficial phytosterol profile. In the kitchen, they are suitable for salads, bread, desserts, ice cream, pesto, and spreads, as a snack or topping. Store them in an airtight container in a cool, dry place; for longer freshness, keep them in the fridge or freezer, and in their shells, they will last longer.
