Green bell pepper
Description
Green pepper has an intense, grassy aroma with a subtle bitterness, a crunchy, meaty texture, and a shiny, deep green skin; the inside is hollow with a white membrane and small seeds. It is low in calories, rich in vitamin C, fiber, and antioxidants, which support the immune system, improve iron absorption, positively affect digestion, and protect cells from oxidative stress. In the kitchen, it works well raw in salads, salsas, and sandwiches, pairs excellently with grilled meat, fish, in stir-fries, soups, fillings, and pizza, adding freshness and texture; it goes well with oil, lemon, garlic, herbs, and spicy seasonings. Store unwashed in the refrigerator, in the vegetable drawer or in a perforated bag, away from ethylene-producing fruits; use within 1–2 weeks or freeze chopped after drying.
