Light lager beer

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Light lager beer is a clear, golden beer with a delicate, malty-hoppy aroma, low bitterness, and a refreshing, clean finish; it usually contains about 4–5% alcohol by volume. It appears light, bubbly, and is enjoyable to drink both on its own and as an accompaniment to dishes. Nutritionally, lager mainly provides carbohydrates and calories (approximately 40–50 kcal per 100 ml), small amounts of protein, and trace amounts of B vitamins and minerals such as potassium and magnesium; it also contains polyphenols with antioxidant properties. Moderate consumption may be associated with some cardiometabolic benefits, but it is important to keep in mind the effects of alcohol and contraindications. In the kitchen, light lager is great for marinades, braising meats, batter for frying (e.g., fish coating), deglazing pans, and light sauces, as well as an ingredient in soups and bread. Store in a cool, dark place or in the refrigerator, upright, and use within a few months of purchase, and consume on the same day after opening.
