Fresh strawberries
Description
Fresh strawberries are juicy, intensely red fruits with a characteristic sweet-tart flavor and a delicate, aromatic scent. They have a fleshy yet soft texture with tiny seeds on the surface, making them an attractive visual and flavor addition. They are low in calories, rich in vitamin C, fiber, folic acid, potassium, and antioxidants such as anthocyanins and ellagic acid, which support the immune system, combat inflammation, and positively affect heart health and glycemic control. In the kitchen, strawberries are suitable for desserts, salads, smoothies, jams, sauces, and baked goods, pairing perfectly with yogurt, basil, balsamic vinegar, chocolate, or heavy cream. Store them in the refrigerator without washing before storing, in a breathable container lined with paper towels, consuming within 2–3 days; for longer storage, remove the stems and freeze them on a tray separately before keeping them in bags.
