Fresh baby spinach

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Fresh baby spinach consists of delicate, light green leaves with a soft, slightly velvety texture and a fresh, mildly earthy flavor with a subtle hint of sweetness. As young leaves, they do not have fibrous stems, making them perfect for eating raw or quickly heating without bitterness. Baby spinach is rich in vitamins A, C, and K, folic acid, iron, magnesium, and fiber, as well as antioxidants such as lutein and zeaxanthin, which support vision and the circulatory system; natural nitrates may positively affect blood pressure. It pairs wonderfully with salads, smoothies, soups, omelets, pasta, and pesto, as well as being a great addition to hot dishes since it wilts quickly. Store it unwashed, wrapped in absorbent paper in a breathable container or bag in the refrigerator and use within 3–5 days; for longer storage, blanch and freeze.
