Fresh peach
Description
Fresh peach has a slightly fuzzy skin, shades of yellow and pink, and juicy yellow or white flesh surrounding a hard pit. Its taste is sweet-tart with floral and honey notes, with intensity depending on the ripeness. It is low in calories, rich in vitamins A and C, dietary fiber, potassium, and antioxidants, which support digestion, the immune system, and skin condition, as well as help maintain electrolyte balance. In the kitchen, peach works well both raw — as a snack, an addition to salads and smoothies — and processed in compotes, jams, desserts, baked goods, or grilled as a side for meats and cheeses. To preserve aroma and texture, unripe fruits ripen at room temperature, preferably in a paper bag, while ripe ones should be stored in the refrigerator unwashed and consumed within a few days.
