Ciecierzyca gotowana (z puszki)

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Canned chickpeas have a creamy-beige color and round shape, the flesh is firm, and when cooked, it is slightly mealy with a mildly nutty, subtly sweet flavor, making it a versatile ingredient in the kitchen and a convenient ready-to-use product. They are an excellent source of plant-based protein, fiber, folic acid, iron, and magnesium, and they also contain complex carbohydrates with a low glycemic index; regular consumption supports satiety, gut health, and glycemic balance, and positively affects the heart's lipid profile. Chickpeas are suitable for hummus, salads, soups, stews, curries, falafels, and baked snacks, and they pair well with herbs, lemon, tahini, and spices. Before use, it is advisable to drain and rinse them to reduce sodium content. An unthickened can should be stored in a cool, dry place; after opening, transfer the chickpeas to an airtight container, store in the refrigerator with a small amount of brine or fresh water for up to 3–4 days, and any excess can be frozen for about 3 months.
