Frozen edamame (shelled)
Description
Frozen edamame (shelled) are light green, firm soybeans with a mildly sweet, slightly nutty flavor and a pleasant, creamy texture when cooked. Their appearance is attractive in salads and Asian dishes, and the ready-to-use beans are convenient without the need to shell the pods. Nutritionally, edamame is a concentrated source of plant protein, fiber, folate, vitamin K, iron, and magnesium, as well as isoflavones. Regularly incorporating them into your diet can support satiety, balance macronutrients in plant-based diets, and positively influence the lipid profile in the context of a healthy lifestyle. In the kitchen, they fit well in salads, soups, risottos, stir-fries, spreads, and snacks; they can be served warm or cold, seasoned with sea salt, chili, or soy sauce. They should be stored in the freezer in their original packaging or an airtight container at around −18°C; thaw directly before use or cook from frozen, avoiding refreezing after thawing.
