Conference pear
Description
Conference pear has an elongated shape, greenish-yellow skin with a characteristic rusty bloom, and firm, slightly grainy flesh with a sweet-delicate, aromatic flavor. Its texture is denser than that of many other varieties, which makes it well-suited for cooking and longer transport. As a dietitian, I emphasize that Conference provides dietary fiber, vitamin C, potassium, and antioxidants with relatively low calorie content, supporting digestion, a feeling of fullness, and cardiovascular health. In the kitchen, it works well both raw in salads and desserts, as well as baked, stewed, in compotes, jams, or as an addition to cheeses and meats. To maintain freshness, store pears in a cool place or in the refrigerator once they reach ripeness, avoid washing before storing, and keep them away from strongly scented products.
