Description

Long-grain white rice has a delicate, mild flavor and a pearly white color; the grains are slender and remain fluffy after cooking, allowing them to separate well. It is a source of easily digestible carbohydrates, a moderate amount of protein, and very low fat content; in enriched versions, it also provides B vitamins and iron. It acts quickly as a source of energy, is gluten-free, and easy to digest, although it has less fiber than brown rice.
