Thick coconut milk (solid part)

🌱 Vegetarian 🌿 Vegan

Description

Thick coconut milk (solid part) is a creamy, white or slightly creamy layer that separates from the liquid in the can; it has a smooth, dense consistency and a distinct sweet-nutty aroma of coconut, as well as a rich, fatty taste. It is high in saturated fats, mainly medium-chain triglycerides (MCT), providing calories and minerals such as manganese and copper, contains little protein and carbohydrates, and is lactose-free, making it a valuable ingredient in a vegan diet. Thanks to its fats, it improves the absorption of fat-soluble vitamins and provides a long-lasting feeling of fullness, although it should be consumed in moderation due to its calorie content. In the kitchen, the solid part is a great substitute for cream in curries, sauces, cream soups, and desserts; it works well for making ice creams, creams, toppings, or coconut whipped cream, as well as a base for marinades and dressings. Store in the refrigerator in an airtight container after opening for 3–5 days, and if necessary, freeze for up to 3 months; unopened cans should be kept in a dry, cool place. Before use, it can be gently warmed or whipped to regain a smooth consistency.
